The Knight: When the Cavalry Arrives

Entry 1 fires. The General moved. The Rook's wall broke.
You look at the chart.
No Knights.
Do you enter?
You can. Scout entry. Small size.
But if you see Knights, the trade just got 5x stronger.
🐴 The Knight is the Cavalry
RVOL (Relative Volume) compares current bar volume to the average of the last 5 bars.
Formula:
RVOL = current_volume / avg_of_previous_5_bars
What it means:
- RVOL = 1.0 → Normal (current = average)
- RVOL = 1.5 → 50% above average (elevated)
- RVOL = 2.0 → Double average (spike)
Knight appears (🐴) when RVOL >= 1.2:
This is the threshold where volume is elevated enough to matter.
Not extreme (that's 2.0+). Not just noise (that's 1.0).
1.2 = the cavalry is arriving.
⚔️ Knights Support, Don't Dictate
Knights don't fire entries.
They confirm them.
Entry 1 fires when:
- General moves (Midas)
- Rook's wall breaks (TD Supply/Demand)
Entry 2 fires when:
- Mike crosses Kijun (Queen's permission flips)
Entry 3 fires when:
- Mike breaks IB High/Low (fortress walls)
Knights don't trigger any of these.
But when Knights show up, the trade gets stronger.
🏇 Entry 1: Knights Reinforce 5x
Entry 1 can fire without Knights.
Sometimes Entry 1 is just:
- General advancing (Midas)
- Rook breaking (TD wall)
- Bishops present (compression/expansion)
Buyers or sellers aren't sure yet.
Volume is normal. Momentum is building, but not proven.
But when a Knight appears at Entry 1:
The trade just got 5x stronger.
Volume spiked. Conviction arrived. The cavalry is here.
Example: Entry 1 WITHOUT Knight
10:15 AM - COIN:
- Midas Bull rising (General advancing)
- Mike breaks TD Supply (Green Rook appears)
- Entry 1 CALL fires
Check volume:
- RVOL = 0.9 (below average)
- No Knight 🐴
Translation: Structure broke, but volume is weak. Scout with 1 contract. Be cautious.
Example: Entry 1 WITH Knight
10:15 AM - AVGO:
- Midas Bull rising (General advancing)
- Mike breaks TD Supply (Green Rook appears)
- Entry 1 CALL fires
Check volume:
- RVOL = 1.4 (elevated)
- Green Knight appears 🐴
Translation: Structure broke AND volume spiked. Conviction present. Scout with confidence.
This is 5x stronger.
👑 Entry 2: Knights Around the Castle
Entry 2 = storming the Queen's castle (Kijun cross).
70% fake-out rate on evil Queens (MSFT, etc.).
Before you add size, scan for Knights.
Look around Entry 2:
- 3 bars before
- At the cross
- 3 bars after
See Knights? Cavalry is arriving. Volume supporting the move.
No Knights? Fake-out likely. Queen defended. Pass.
Example: Entry 2 WITH Knights
11:30 AM:
- Mike crosses Kijun at +125F (Entry 2 fires)
- Check surrounding bars:
- 11:25: RVOL = 1.3 (Knight 🐴)
- 11:30: RVOL = 1.5 (Knight 🐴)
- 11:35: RVOL = 1.2 (Knight 🐴)
Translation: Volume supporting the Kijun cross. Not just price tapping. Real move.
Add 2 contracts. Cavalry arrived.
Example: Entry 2 WITHOUT Knights
11:30 AM:
- Mike crosses Kijun at +125F (Entry 2 fires)
- Check surrounding bars:
- 11:25: RVOL = 0.8 (low)
- 11:30: RVOL = 0.9 (normal)
- 11:35: RVOL = 1.0 (normal)
No Knights.
Translation: Kijun cross on weak volume. Fake-out likely. Queen defended.
Pass. Don't add size.
Knights at Entry 2 = help is arriving.
No Knights = you're alone at the castle gate.
🏰 Entry 3: Three Knights at the Wall (Critical)
Entry 3 = breaking IB High/Low (the fortress walls).
These are the Theodosian Walls. Masada. Great Wall of Gorgan.
Defended to the death.
Without Knights at Entry 3:
70%+ fake-out rate. Wall holds. Rejection brutal.
Don't even try.
With Knights at Entry 3:
Volume confirms. Wall breaking for real. Extension likely.
This is where Knights matter MOST.
The Three Knights Rule:
When you see three Knights clustered around the IB break:
Think Napoleon at the moment of near-death. Reinforcements arrived. He survived.
Three Knights at the wall = cavalry arrived. Add a contract.
Example: AVGO Feb 6 (Entry 3 with Knights)
IB Structure:
- IB High at +516F (the fortress wall)
11:00 AM - IB Break Attempt:
- Mike approaches +516F
- Check for Knights:
10:55 AM: RVOL = 1.4 (Knight 🐴) 11:00 AM: RVOL = 1.5 (Knight 🐴) 11:05 AM: RVOL = 1.3 (Knight 🐴)
Three Knights at the wall.
Translation: Volume spiking at the breach. Cavalry arrived. Wall breaking for real.
11:05 AM:
- Mike breaks +516F (IB High)
- Holds above
- First Goldmine fires at +552F
Entry 3 confirmed. Add 1-2 contracts.
Without those three Knights?
Don't touch it. Wall defended. Pass.
❗️ Horse Reinforcement (The Rescue)
Context: Entry 1 fired in bad location (LOFT/CELLAR) → ⏳ Blocked
Later: Mike reclaims the blocked level with Z3 ON → 🧿 Reclaim fires
Horse Reinforcement (❗️): If RVOL spikes within ±3 bars of the reclaim, ❗️ appears.
This is different from regular Knight:
- Knight (🐴): RVOL >= 1.2 (general support)
- Horse Reinforcement (❗️): RVOL spike near reclaim (rescue mission)
Think Napoleon: Surrounded. About to die. Reinforcements arrived. He survived.
Horse Reinforcement = the rescue cavalry.
Example: Blocked → Reclaim with Horses
10:15 AM - Entry 1:
- Mike at +519F (in LOFT zone)
- Entry 1 CALL fires but ⏳ Blocked
- Stored level: +519F
11:30 AM - Reclaim:
- Mike crosses back above +519F
- Z3 >= +1.2 (momentum armor ON)
- 🧿 Reclaim fires
Check surrounding bars:
- 11:25: RVOL = 1.0 (normal)
- 11:30: RVOL = 1.5 (Knight 🐴)
- 11:35: RVOL = 1.4 (Knight 🐴)
Horse Reinforcement (❗️) appears.
Translation: Volume spiked at the reclaim. Not just price tapping. Real conviction. Cavalry rescued the scout.
Add size at reclaim.
🚨 The Trap: Knights Without Movement
Here's the danger:
Too many Knights and Mike doesn't move = TRAP.
What This Looks Like:
Session:
- Knights appearing constantly (RVOL elevated all day)
- Mike chopping between +80F and +120F
- No T1 hit
- No extension
Translation: Volume without direction. Chop. Range. Everyone fighting, nobody winning.
This is a trap.
The rule:
Knights gotta move Mike to T1.
If you see Knights at Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3... but Mike never hits T1 (Bollinger Band pierce)?
Exit. It's a trap. Volume without follow-through.
Good Knights (Move Mike):
Session:
- Entry 1 fires (Knight present)
- Mike climbs from +50F → +80F → +100F
- Entry 2 fires (Knights present)
- Mike continues to +150F
- T1 hit at +180F (Bollinger pierce)
Translation: Knights supported the move. Volume = conviction. Trend confirmed.
Bad Knights (No Movement):
Session:
- Entry 1 fires (Knight present)
- Mike at +50F
- 30 minutes later: Mike at +55F
- Entry 2 fires (Knights present)
- Mike at +60F
- 1 hour later: Mike at +58F
- No T1. No extension.
Translation: Volume without direction. Chop. Exit.
Knights without movement = range trap.
🔴 Red vs Green Knights (Kingdom Colored)
Knights get colored by Kingdom:
Green Knight (Mike > Kijun):
- Green Kingdom active
- Volume supporting calls
- Bullish conviction
Red Knight (Mike < Kijun):
- Red Kingdom active
- Volume supporting puts
- Bearish conviction
Just like Rook, Pawn, etc.
🎯 The Knight Checklist
Before entering any trade, scan for Knights:
Entry 1:
- Knight present? → 5x stronger
- No Knight? → Scout cautiously
Entry 2:
- Knights around the cross (±3 bars)? → Safer assault
- No Knights? → Fake-out likely, pass
Entry 3:
- Three Knights at the wall? → Add a contract
- No Knights? → Don't touch it
After entry:
- Knights moving Mike to T1? → Hold
- Knights without movement? → Trap, exit
🔥 Real Examples (Volume Confirmation)
COIN Feb 6 - Entry 1:
10:15 AM:
- Midas Bull rising ✅
- TD Supply broken (Green Rook) ✅
- RVOL = 1.2 (Green Knight 🐴) ✅
All three present. This is a strong Entry 1.
SPY Feb 6 - Entry 2:
12:25 PM:
- Mike crosses Kijun ✅
- Check Knights:
- 12:20: RVOL = 1.1 (below threshold)
- 12:25: RVOL = 1.0 (normal)
- 12:30: RVOL = 0.9 (low)
No Knights. Weak Kijun cross. Pass.
AVGO Feb 6 - Entry 3:
11:00 AM (IB High break):
- Mike breaks +516F ✅
- Three Knights at the wall:
- 10:55: RVOL = 1.4 🐴
- 11:00: RVOL = 1.5 🐴
- 11:05: RVOL = 1.3 🐴
Cavalry arrived. Add 1-2 contracts.
Result: Mike extends to +730F (T1 +214F above IB High).
Without those Knights? Don't trade Entry 3.
📊 RVOL Classification (Visual Levels)
On the chart, you'll see:
🐴 Knight (RVOL >= 1.2):
- Elevated volume
- Support present
- Confirmation marker
🟧 High (RVOL >= 1.5):
- Volume well above average
- Strong conviction
🔺 Extreme (RVOL > 2.0):
- Massive spike
- Climax/panic
💤 Low (RVOL < 0.8):
- Below average
- Dull tape
Hover over any Knight to see actual RVOL value (1.23, 1.45, 2.1, etc.).
💀 What Knights Don't Do
Knights don't:
- Fire entries (that's General + Rook, Queen, or IB walls)
- Decide permission (that's the Queen)
- Predict direction (that's structure)
- Replace structure (General + Rook still required)
Knights do ONE thing:
Confirm that volume supports the move.
Volume = conviction. Knights = cavalry arrived.
That's it.
❓ Questions
"What if I see a Knight but no entry signal?"
Then just a Knight.
Volume spike without structure = meaningless.
Need:
- Entry 1: General + Rook + Knight
- Entry 2: Kijun cross + Knight
- Entry 3: IB break + Knight(s)
Knight alone = nothing.
"Can I enter just because I see three Knights?"
No.
Three Knights at random location = noise.
Three Knights at IB break = meaningful.
Context matters.
"What if Knights appear but Mike reverses?"
Then volume was on the wrong side.
Knights confirm the move AT ENTRY.
If Mike reverses later, that's structure breaking (different issue).
Exit when structure fails, not when Knights disappear.
"How do I count Knights quickly?"
Visual scan:
Look at the area around your entry (±3-5 bars).
See green horses (🐴)? Count them.
1 Knight = okay. 2 Knights = good. 3 Knights = strong.
At Entry 3, three Knights = add size.
"What if RVOL is 1.19 (just below 1.2)?"
No Knight.
Threshold is >= 1.2. Close doesn't count.
But: Hover to see actual value. 1.19 is still elevated, just not "cavalry arrived" level.
🚀 See It Live
What to look for:
- Green/Red Knights (🐴) appearing on bars
- Hover over Knights to see RVOL value
- At Entry 1: Knight present = stronger
- At Entry 2: Knights around cross = safer
- At Entry 3 (IB break): Three Knights clustered = add size
Watch for 30 minutes.
You'll see: Knights supporting real moves. No Knights = weaker moves or fake-outs.
🎯 The Bottom Line
The Knight is the cavalry.
Knights don't fire entries. They confirm them.
Entry 1 with Knight = 5x stronger.
Entry 2 with Knights around = safer assault.
Entry 3 with three Knights = add a contract.
No Knights at Entry 3? Don't touch it.
Knights without movement to T1? Trap. Exit.
Volume confirms conviction.
Knights confirm volume.
That's the difference between guessing and knowing the cavalry arrived.
