Marengo: When the Cavalry Arrives at T1

Marengo (šŸŽ) fires when Mike pierces Bollinger Band WITH volume spike (RVOL > 1.2). North Marengo = Upper Band + volume (bullish explosion). South Marengo = Lower Band + volume (bearish explosion). Always teal, kingdom-independent. This is T1 with conviction - not just reaching the band, but breaking through with cavalry backing. Named after Napoleon's Battle of Marengo: cavalry arrives, defeat becomes victory.
Marengo: When the Cavalry Arrives at T1

Mike hits T1. First target reached. Bollinger Band pierced.

You check one more thing:

Is the teal horse there?

Teal horse (šŸŽ) = Marengo. Volume arrived. Cavalry backing.

No horse = just a touch. Might fade.

šŸŽ Marengo (The Cavalry Charge)

Marengo fires when Mike pierces Bollinger Band WITH volume spike.

Two types:

North Marengo (Upper Band):

  • Mike ≄ Upper Bollinger Band
  • RVOL > 1.2 (Knight threshold)
  • Teal horse appears šŸŽ
  • Translation: Bullish explosion with cavalry

South Marengo (Lower Band):

  • Mike ≤ Lower Bollinger Band
  • RVOL > 1.2 (Knight threshold)
  • Teal horse appears šŸŽ
  • Translation: Bearish explosion with cavalry

Always teal. Kingdom-independent.

Like Yellow Bishop (compression) and Purple Bishop (extreme volatility).

Teal Marengo = structure (band pierce) + volume (Knight).

Not permission. Conviction.

āš”ļø The Battle of Marengo (June 14, 1800)

Napoleon vs Austria. Northern Italy.

Morning - Afternoon:

  • Napoleon's army divided
  • Austrians attack with overwhelming force
  • French pushed back, heavy casualties
  • Napoleon losing badly
  • By 3 PM: defeat imminent

3:30 PM - The Cavalry Arrives:

  • General Desaix's division arrives (6,000 men)
  • Fresh troops + cavalry charge
  • Austrian center collapses in ONE HOUR

By 5 PM:

  • Complete reversal
  • Austrians routed
  • Napoleon's most famous victory
  • Defeat becomes crushing win

The lesson:

Cavalry arrival = game changer.

Battle lost → cavalry arrives → battle won.

Same in trading:

Mike struggling at band → volume spike arrives (Marengo) → extension confirmed.

šŸŽÆ T1 vs Marengo (Different Jobs)

They're related but different:

T1 (The Horse šŸ‡šŸ¼):

  • First pierce of Bollinger Band after Entry 1
  • First target
  • Extension confirmed

What it means: Mike broke out of normal volatility container.

Marengo (Teal Horse šŸŽ):

  • Band pierce WITH volume spike (RVOL > 1.2)
  • T1 + conviction
  • Cavalry backing

What it means: Mike broke out AND has force behind it.

The difference:

T1 alone:

  • Mike touches Upper Band at +180F
  • RVOL = 0.9 (below Knight threshold)
  • No Marengo
  • Translation: Reached target, but volume weak. Might fade.

T1 with Marengo:

  • Mike crosses Upper Band at +180F
  • RVOL = 1.4 (Knight present)
  • Teal horse appears šŸŽ
  • Translation: Reached target WITH cavalry. Extension continues.

Marengo separates real T1s from fake T1s.

🟢 North Marengo (Bullish Explosion)

Setup:

Mike climbing. Entry 1 fired. Approaching Upper Band.

Without Marengo:

11:00 AM:

  • Mike at +175F
  • Upper Band at +180F
  • Mike touches +180F (T1 šŸ‡šŸ¼ fires)
  • Check RVOL: 0.8 (low, no Knight)
  • No Marengo

What happens:

  • Mike taps +180F
  • Fades to +170F within 5 bars
  • T1 failed (no conviction)

Translation: Band touch without volume. Rejection.

With Marengo:

11:00 AM:

  • Mike at +175F
  • Upper Band at +180F
  • Mike breaks above +180F (T1 šŸ‡šŸ¼ fires)
  • Check RVOL: 1.5 (Knight present)
  • Teal horse appears šŸŽ (North Marengo)

What happens:

  • Mike continues to +210F
  • T2 fires at +205F
  • King crowned
  • Extension complete

Translation: Band pierce WITH cavalry. Real move.

North Marengo = bullish conviction confirmed.

Not just reaching the band. Breaking through with force.

šŸ”“ South Marengo (Bearish Explosion)

Setup:

Mike dropping. Entry 1 PUT fired. Approaching Lower Band.

Without Marengo:

14:00 PM:

  • Mike at +85F
  • Lower Band at +80F
  • Mike touches +80F (T1 šŸ‡šŸ¼ fires)
  • Check RVOL: 0.9 (low, no Knight)
  • No Marengo

What happens:

  • Mike taps +80F
  • Bounces to +90F within 5 bars
  • T1 failed (no conviction)

Translation: Band touch without volume. Bounce.

With Marengo:

14:00 PM:

  • Mike at +85F
  • Lower Band at +80F
  • Mike breaks below +80F (T1 šŸ‡šŸ¼ fires)
  • Check RVOL: 1.6 (Knight present)
  • Teal horse appears šŸŽ (South Marengo)

What happens:

  • Mike continues to +50F
  • T2 fires at +55F
  • King crowned
  • Extension complete

Translation: Band pierce WITH cavalry. Real move.

South Marengo = bearish conviction confirmed.

Band broke with force. Extension likely.

šŸ”„ Real Example: AVGO Feb 6 (North Marengo at IB Break)

Let's walk through a real session:

IB Structure:

  • IB High at +516F (fortress wall)
  • Upper Band at +520F (nearby)

11:00 AM - IB Break + T1:

  • Mike breaks IB High at +516F
  • Mike pierces Upper Band at +520F
  • T1 fires šŸ‡šŸ¼ (band pierce)

Check Volume:

  • RVOL at 11:00 = 1.5 (Knight present)
  • Teal horse appears šŸŽ (North Marengo)

Translation: IB break + T1 + volume spike = all confirmations.

11:05 AM - First Goldmine:

  • Mike at +552F
  • Extension confirmed

12:25 PM - Session High:

  • Mike at +730F
  • +214F above IB High
  • T2 fired, King crowned

Without Marengo at 11:00 AM:

Might have doubted the IB break. Volume weak? Fake-out likely?

With Marengo:

Cavalry arrived. All confirmations present. Enter aggressively.

The teal horse told you: this is real.

šŸŽØ Visual Recognition (Teal Horse)

On the Terminal:

Look for the teal horse (šŸŽ) at the bands:

Near Upper Band:

  • Mike piercing up
  • Teal horse appears
  • North Marengo = bullish cavalry

Near Lower Band:

  • Mike piercing down
  • Teal horse appears
  • South Marengo = bearish cavalry

Color = instant recognition:

  • Green Knight (🐓) = volume spike (RVOL ≄ 1.2) in Green Kingdom
  • Red Knight (🐓) = volume spike in Red Kingdom
  • Teal Horse (šŸŽ) = volume spike AT BAND (kingdom-independent)

Different jobs:

Knights = general volume confirmation.

Marengo = band pierce + volume = T1 conviction.

šŸ”± The Conviction Hierarchy (T1 Confirmation)

T1 Alone (Band Pierce)
ā”œā”€ Mike crosses Upper/Lower Band
ā”œā”€ First target reached
ā”œā”€ Extension starting
└─ But: might fade without volume

T1 + Marengo (Band Pierce + Volume)
ā”œā”€ Mike crosses band
ā”œā”€ RVOL > 1.2 (Knight present)
ā”œā”€ Teal horse appears šŸŽ
ā”œā”€ Cavalry backing
└─ Extension confirmed (T2 likely)

T1 = destination.

Marengo = destination + cavalry.

One is weaker. One is stronger.

🚨 When to Trust T1

Before holding past T1, check for Marengo:

T1 with Marengo (Hold):

Setup:

  • Entry 1 at +50F
  • Mike climbs to +180F (Upper Band)
  • T1 fires šŸ‡šŸ¼
  • RVOL = 1.4 (Marengo šŸŽ appears)

Action: Hold for T2. Cavalry present. Extension continues.

T1 without Marengo (Exit or Tighten):

Setup:

  • Entry 1 at +50F
  • Mike climbs to +180F (Upper Band)
  • T1 fires šŸ‡šŸ¼
  • RVOL = 0.9 (no Marengo)

Action: Exit or tighten stop. No cavalry. Might fade.

The rule:

T1 without Marengo = take profit or reduce size.

T1 with Marengo = hold for T2 (extension likely).

šŸ’€ When Marengo is Lying

Marengo can appear in range:

Scenario:

  • Mike chopping between bands
  • Touches Upper Band (North Marengo fires)
  • Drops back into range
  • Touches Lower Band (South Marengo fires)
  • Chop continues

Translation: Volume at bands, but no directional trend.

How to tell the difference:

Trend Marengo (Real):

  • After Entry 1 (scout established)
  • Directional move into band
  • T1 + Marengo = continuation

Range Marengo (Noise):

  • No Entry 1 before
  • Mike bouncing between bands
  • Marengo at both ends = chop

The fix:

Only trust Marengo in context:

  • After Entry 1 (direction established)
  • With other confirmations (General, Rook, Knights)
  • Directional bias present

Don't enter just because teal horse appeared.

🧠 Marengo + Knights + Cape (Full T1 Stack)

Strongest T1 has all three:

Layer 1: T1 (Band Pierce):

  • Mike crosses Upper/Lower Band
  • First target šŸ‡šŸ¼

Layer 2: Marengo (Volume at Band):

  • RVOL > 1.2 (Knight threshold)
  • Teal horse šŸŽ

Layer 3: Cape (Momentum Armor):

  • Z3 ≄ ±1.2
  • Mike line green/red (engine ON)

All three present:

T1 + Marengo + Cape = strongest extension setup.

Hold for T2. All confirmations aligned.

Example:

11:00 AM:

  • Mike crosses Upper Band at +180F (T1 šŸ‡šŸ¼)
  • RVOL = 1.5 (Marengo šŸŽ)
  • Z3 = +1.6 (Cape ON, Mike line green)

Translation: Band pierce + volume + momentum. Hold aggressively.

šŸŽÆ Why "Marengo" (The Name)

Napoleon's Battle of Marengo = perfect metaphor:

In trading:

Mike at band without volume:

  • Like Napoleon losing
  • Struggling at resistance
  • Might retreat

Cavalry arrives (RVOL spike):

  • Marengo fires šŸŽ
  • Volume backing the move
  • Defeat becomes victory

The teal horse = Desaix's cavalry arriving at 3:30 PM.

Game changer. Reversal of fortune.

When you see it at the band, the battle is won.

ā“ Questions

"Can I get Marengo without T1?"

Technically yes, but rare.

Marengo = Mike at band + RVOL > 1.2.

But:

  • If Mike is at band, T1 already fired (they happen same bar)
  • Marengo is the T1 confirmation, not separate

In practice: Marengo appears WITH T1, not without.

"What if I see multiple Marengo in one session?"

Then multiple band touches with volume.

Could mean:

  • Strong trend (reaching band multiple times)
  • Or range (bouncing between bands)

Check context:

  • After Entry 1 + directional = trend
  • No Entry 1 + back-and-forth = range

"Why teal and not green/red?"

Because Marengo is kingdom-independent.

  • Green/Red pieces = permission-based (Queen decides color)
  • Yellow/Purple/Teal pieces = structural (independent)

Marengo = band pierce + volume.

Doesn't matter if you're in Green or Red Kingdom.

Structure + volume = teal.

"What if Marengo fires but Mike reverses?"

Then cavalry arrived but battle lost anyway.

Marengo confirms T1 at the moment.

But:

  • Markets can reverse even with volume
  • Marengo doesn't guarantee T2
  • Just says "T1 is real, not a tap"

Use stops. Volume backing doesn't mean invincible.

"Does Marengo work with Purple Bishop?"

Yes, related.

Purple Bishop = STD doubled (2x volatility expansion).

Marengo = band pierce + volume.

When both fire together:

  • Extreme volatility (Purple)
  • Band pierce with volume (Marengo)
  • Climax moment

Often an exit signal (too much too fast).

What to look for:

  1. Teal horses (šŸŽ) near Upper/Lower Bands
  2. North Marengo at Upper Band = bullish cavalry
  3. South Marengo at Lower Band = bearish cavalry
  4. At T1: Check if Marengo appears (volume confirmation)
  5. Without Marengo: Band touch might fade
  6. With Marengo: Extension likely, hold for T2

Watch the cavalry arrive.

šŸŽÆ The Bottom Line

Marengo = T1 with conviction.

Not just reaching the band. Breaking through with cavalry.

North Marengo (šŸŽ):

  • Upper Band + volume
  • Bullish explosion

South Marengo (šŸŽ):

  • Lower Band + volume
  • Bearish explosion

Always teal. Kingdom-independent.

Structure + volume = confirmation.

T1 alone = might fade.

T1 + Marengo = cavalry arrived, hold for T2.

Named after Napoleon's greatest victory:

Battle lost → cavalry arrives → battle won in ONE HOUR.

When you see the teal horse at the band, the battle is won.
